The Last Voyage of the Demeter2023 • R • 1h 58m![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A crew sailing from Varna (Bulgaria) by the Black Sea to England find that they are carrying very dangerous cargo. |
Nice effects, great cgi, and fair amount of dread placing a classic evil on a confined ship that delivers somewhat inconsistently but is overall a pretty fun watch. The fear factor wasn't overwhelming; I kind of wish there were more scares. The CGI for Dracula's closeups were fantastic though. I think some of the writing could have been better. The crew seemed rather dense in the spite of obvious things going wrong, and some of their choices were fairly nonsensical. I also think the ship could have felt smaller. With so many days and nights going by, and so many ports being left behind, why not spend all of one day in the daylight going through the cargo bay. On that note, I think we couldhave had less days and nights go by, and spent longer on the final night, maybe cutting some of the movie down a bit at the same time. Anyway, overall, it was a fun watch that I wouldn't be against re-watching some day, despite some of its flaws. |
