A fine post-apocalyptic movie. It was hard to not see all the aspects of this film that influenced I am Legend (2007). It doesn't go very out of its way to be smart or scary, it seems more like a film about a lonely man in a dead world than a zombie/vampire horror.

However, one thing that is bothering me is the monsters. Despite being referred to as 'vampires', they are much more zombie-like than not. Considering this was four years before Romero's Night of the Living Dead and executes these monsters as good (if not better) than those in Romero's film, I'm having a difficult time being fully on board that Romero is the outright father of the modern zombie.

Separately, wanted to note that this was also the first real Vincent Price movie I've seen. Not exactly sure what I expected, but that was about it. He fulfilled what I assumed him to be from years of parodies/tributes.

Thanks for stoping by! ;)
