An enjoyable movie that felt like an M. Night flick in its direction, but also felt a little lacking in the writing.

First off, the acting was great. Dave Bautista as Leonard was fantastic and I felt his inner conflict through the entirety of the movie. Likewise for the rest of the cast as well, though the story was focused much on Leonard's leadership.

Ultimately, the point of watching any M. Night movie is usually in "the twist." I'm sure he would like to get away from that, but that's still how I enter his movies. There was some psychological ping-pong, which I love in a thriller, but the ending left something lacking. I wish he either left it completely ambiguous, or had a final twist from where it ended. Like, have it convincing enough that it was the apocalypse, followed by a convincing enough excuses for the anomolies where even the survivors aren't sure. Maybe there's an alternate ending.

All in all, I'm glad I watched this one and I continue to be an M. Night fan, but probably have to stop going in expecting The Sixth Sense every time.

Thanks for stoping by! ;)
