Again, was a fun time.

Maybe I keep setting my expectations too low and then end up finding these sequels to be fine enough, but this one felt like a fine follow up.

Sure, and once again, the script isn't winning awards, the acting is okay-at-best, and the practical effects are dated (especially in HD), but it's a campy slasher that I can't imagine was made to be taken seriously. And it has a couple scares.

Continuity must not have been important in the 80s though. Jason appearance changed quite a bit in the few story-hours between Part II and Part III, he's taller, hairless, and it seems a 6 inch deep machete wound through the shoulder heals in less than a day.

I was also hoping to get some answers on what happened to Paul and the other counselors from in town from Part II, but that seems to just be a loose end that's not going to be explained.

Just like the first starting the franchise, the second establishing Jason as the killer, I'm giving the third aprt here some extra points for establishing the iconic hockey mask, which has become so ubiquitous with--not only the franchise--but the horror genre all together.

Anyway, a fine, campy sequel if you get yourself into the mood to watch a dated 80s slasher; even if they're starting to feel a bit repetitive.

Thanks for stoping by! ;)
