Five years after the events of the first film, a summer camp next to the infamous Camp Crystal Lake is preparing to open, but the legend of Jason is weighing heavy on the proceedings.

Seems like a fine sequel to me.

I didn't have high hopes going in, having seen Part 2 hasn't been all that well received, but my expectations were surpassed. Sure, the script isn't going to win any awards, and the acting is okay-at-best, but I didn't really see much reason to think this is worse than the first film. The first film gets a bump for starting the franchise, though this one should get a bump for establishing Jason as the killer.

As far as I could remember, this one seemed to have much less blood than the first; the kills seemed to be much less intense; except for Mark, poor guy.

The ending confused me, like many 80s movies it just seems to kinda end leaving me a bit confused as to what happened to Paul, and to all the other kids in town, etc. Perhaps that's covered in Part 3.

I do appreciate the recap at the beginning too; more films should do that, ha.

Thanks for stoping by! ;)
