I love this remake. The opening sequence with the neighbor girl in their doorway and the chaos in the streets is superb. The characters work so well not fully trusting each other even in the face most certain death. The acting is good enough; Sarah Polley execute cleanly and I love seeing Ty Burrell as the jerk (what a transition to Modern Family, ha). Is it better than the original? Probably not, but it's just so much fun; and maybe worth more of a re-watch. |
