Hard to review this without nostalgia. I imagine someone watching with a fresh set of eyes may give this a much lower score today. But it is certainly original and a great stage-setter for what Tim Burton is all about. It’s an outrageous, border-line raunchy, PG-rated dark comedy about the afterlife and in-between. Michael Keaton really gives it his all, that’s for sure; it’s actually hard to tell it’s him most of the time. |
