Heist movie turns violent. It's much more fun to go into this blind, so stop reading if you haven't seen it yet. I really enjoyed Abigail, and I'm glad to have a well delivered vampire movie in the list. A nice genre pivot, and a surprise for those who were unfamiliar with the premise. Good amount of scares and chills, and gore was adequately over-the-top. The laughs were also a nice balance in the film. I did find it a little derivative of recent trapped-in-a-mansion films; like "Ready or Not" and "Bodies, Bodies, Bodies" but its execution was just as top-notch. |
